How often do we fart per day?

Whether you’re male, female, old or young, everybody farts. Anyone who claims otherwise is obviously lying. Farts are caused by air, carbon and a mixture of gasses in your intestines. They leave your body through your anus. On average, we fart about 14 times a day, most people will fart somewhere between 10 and 25 times a day.

 

 

How often do we fart in a lifetime?

If you take into account that you fart about 16 times a day, then you fart about 16x365=5700 times a year. Let’s say you reach 80 years old, you will have farted about 460.000 times!! 

Who fart more, men or women?

It honestly doesn’t matter whether you’re a man or a woman. A lot of research has been done into deciding who farts more but they found that everyone farts about the same amount.

What does a fart consist of?

An average fart is made of:
59% nitrogen
21% hydrogen
9% carbon dioxide
7% methane
4% oxygen
1% hydrogen sulfide, the smelly part

Is it unhealthy to hold in a fart?

There are numerous theories on whether its unhealthy or not to hold in a fart. Some experts say there’s no harm in it, whereas others claim that it could even cause cancer. What we do know, is that holding in farts (and burps) can cause gas accumulation, which often gives people stomach ache or a full feeling.
