What is the average age walking?

It always keeps parents busy; the first steps of their child. The parents often try to speed up the process by helping their kids practice, but in the end it is up to the child itself when it start walking. When a child starts walking for the first time really differs from child to child. The average age walking is about 14 months. Girls, in general start walking faster than boys. The average age walking for girls is about 12 to 13 months, and for boys about 14 to 15 months.

Why can animals walk right away but humans can't?

A baby taking his first steps is a big milestone which parents are often very happy with, but most animals start walking almost immediately after birth. This has to do with the development of our brain. When we are born our brain is far from developed, and this is for a reason. If our brains would be fully developed at birth we would have a bigger skull and we would not fit through the birth canal. To be able to walk upright we would need a large brain, which animals have at, or shortly after, birth. Humans are born with a small brain, which as they grow up almost doubles in size.
